After examining the specs from the client, the choice of website builder fell on Shopify – an online e-commerce platform which is great for online shops.

In accordance with the cabinet maker’s vision the website has a minimalist, sleek and modern look that accentuates the product photos to the fullest.

The welcoming page hero image is a detail of a magnificent mix of wood and epoxy, and it lures us down to the products. Further on a video can be played for the customer to learn of the crafting process. An Instagram feed portrays the latest updates from the workshop and events. A sign up form for the newsletter lets people have the chance to receive discounted offers as well as news.

Every page displays the latest added products after the main content to help convert visitors into buying customers.

The entire website is of course fully responsive and is therefore accessible to browse on all devices; smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops.

The photos taken in the workshop by the founder himself needed some editing before publishing. To make it simple for him to replicate the steps of our editing, we used the graphic design platform Canva for the job. We removed the background in the images, recentered the items and added a new, neutral background. We also did some adjustments to the light, contrast and saturation of the photos, since the original photos did not represent the true colours.
